How We’re Supporting Families During the COVID-19 Pandemic

In response to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, Greater DC Diaper Bank has partnered with several other basic need provider organizations around the DC metro region to ensure all families have what they need during this tough time. We’ve created Diaper Need Hubs, a place where families can get food and diapers at one location. We’re currently partnering with the below organizations, and are looking to partner with others as the situation evolves.

Below you will find some additional information on the partnering organizations and what you need to know before arriving at each location. We do not provide diapers directly to families. Please do not show up at an organization without having reviewed their policies

 

 

WASHINGTON, DC

CentroNía
Address1420 Columbia Rd NW, Washington, DC 20009 (Front Entrance)
– Families in need of diapers should make an appointment on our CentroNía website
or call 202-394-4873. We will reach out to families with an appointment date, time and confirmation number
– Please bring proof of child’s date of birth (DOB)
– Distribution days & times: Mondays and Thursdays: 11AM – 3PM
– Food is being served at Martha’s Table (next door at 1474 Columbia Rd NW)

Educare

– Distribution days & times: Tuesday and Thursdays: 10AM – 2PM (closed April 16th)
– Families in need of diapers should bring proof of child’s date of birth (DOB)
– Food is being served at Thomas Elementary (next door at 650 Anacostia Ave. NE) during this time
NOTE: This week (May 18 -24) there will be NO Diaper Distribution. 

 

Martha’s Table

– Families in need of diapers should bring proof of child’s date of birth (DOB)
– Diapers available Mondays and Fridays 11am – 3pm
– Food is also available at this site

 

MARYLAND

Adventist Community Services of Greater Washington (ACSGW)

-Must provide child’s proof of birth at pickup
-All services by appointment only. Call 301- 585-6556 between 10AM and 3PM
-Diapers available by appointment only Monday-Thursday 10AM – 2PM
-Food Pantry by appointment only Monday-Thursday 10AM – 2PM
-Learning Center and Free Thrift Shop are temporarily closed due to COVID 19 guidance

Northern Virginia Family Services (NVFS)

– Hunger Resource Center (HRC) will provide diapers to families as needed through the food pantry

StAnthony of Padua

The Campagna Center

-Diapers will be distributed at First Baptist Church in Alexandria Virginia
-Families in need of diapers should bring proof of child’s date of birth (DOB)

United Community (UC)

– UC will provide diapers to families as needed through their food pantry
– UC provides support for families in Fairfax County in the following zip codes: 22306, 22307, 22308, 22309, and East of Telegraph 22303 & 22310
– All clients seeking food assistance must bring a valid photo ID and proof of baby’s DOB
– Food Pantry’s Hours are as follows: Mon. 9AM-12 PM, Tues. 1PM-5:30PM, Wed. 8AM-12PM, Thurs. 1PM-5:30PM, Fri. 9AM-12PM
