GDCDB’s Impact
Serving 48,000 babies per year, we meet 15% of the diaper need in the DMV. We need your help to do more.
The best part of distributing diapers is knowing that we are providing immediate relief to young families and caregivers who are struggling to meet basic needs. By supplying something as essential as diapers, we help alleviate a significant source of stress, allowing parents to focus on other important aspects of their lives, such as work, education, or family well-being. – ACTS in Prince William County

Using Data to Drive Impact: A Community Centric Approach
At Greater DC Diaper Bank, data collection and analysis are at the heart of our work, ensuring we can continually improve our programs and support for families.
To measure our impact, we first track every item that leaves our warehouse – from diapers and bottles of formula, to toothbrush and period products – and is distributed by one of our community partners. Each month, our partners report back detailed information, including the number of families and babies served and the number of diapers distributed, broken down by zip code.
We also conduct annual community partner surveys and bi-annual family surveys to gain deeper insights into how our products and partnerships are making a difference. These surveys explore critical areas such as:
- The impact of GDCDB products on babies’ health outcomes.
- The emotional, financial, and physical health of parents and caregivers.
- Changes in client engagement with other services offered by our distribution partners.
This commitment to data collection allows us to fine-tune our programs, strengthen our partnerships, and ensure that every item distributed contributes to healthier, more resilient families and communities.
