We here at DCDB Headquarters have been enjoying leftovers, clicking our way through holidays deal, baking things with cinnamon and pumpkin, and getting that warm and fuzzy holiday feeling.  We hope the same is true for you!  And as part of that holiday feeling we’re thinking about giving back.  Today (November 27th) has been designated as Giving Tuesday, a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season.  It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations – and we think it’s a great idea!

How can you give back today? Funny you should ask; we’ve got some ideas!

–       Lift your e-voice

  • In a world of much need and many worthy causes, please share with people in your life why you support and care about DC Diaper Bank.  Share our work with your friends on Facebook and invite them to join us there or check out our website (www.dcdiaperbank.org).  Give us a tweet of support and let others know why we’re getting your keystrokes.

–       Give of your time

  • Organizing a Diaper Drive actually takes far less time than you think and it’s easy for folks at your daycare, school, office, place of worship, or club to give because they can purchase diapers at the grocery store during their regular trip.  We have a handy dandy Diaper Drive Toolkit and we have plenty of simple ideas for how to make your drive a success!  Give us a shout: info@dcdiaperbank.org

–       Donate a few bucks

  • There’s an idea out there that you must give a lot of money in order to make a difference.  We’re here to tell you that is not true!  Small amounts add up to a lot and giving just a little can literally change a baby’s, and a family’s, life.  Our Factor of 12 giving program is just $12 a month – enough for us to diaper a baby for two weeks.  Or give a one-time donation – why not skip coffee out this week and donate what you would spend to DC Diaper Bank?

We hope you’ll join us on this first annual Giving Tuesday and reach out in as many ways as you can!
