Diaper Dudes: celebrating the important role that dads and men play in infant health

About the Diaper Dudes Campaign

In honor of Father’s Day, GDCDB is highlighting the important and often overlooked role that dads and dad figures play in infant health and wellbeing. In support of this campaign, the Diaper Bank is receiving a donation of over 250,000 Huggies® diapers from the National Diaper Bank Network – a massive donation for the Diaper Bank! In order to distribute these diapers to families in need, the organization urgently needs over 750 volunteers to help bundle the diapers and is calling on DMV dads and dad figures to help fill this role.

Players from the Washington Wizards and Monumental Sports & Entertainment staff volunteers helped kick off the campaign in early June, processing the donation into the GDCDB warehouse to quickly be distributed to families in the DMV community. But the Diaper Bank needs more help.

Throughout June, GDCDB is calling on men in the DMV to volunteer at its Silver Spring warehouse, to donate diapers and essential baby supplies, and to contribute financial donations to provide vulnerable babies with basic essentials between Father’s Day and the end 2024.

“So many men in our region serve a critical role in supporting our families and communities, and we know that their involvement correlates to strong infant health outcomes,”
