Working in deep collaboration with this extensive network of distribution partners, we are able to supply diapers and essentials for free to families, while connecting them to the resources needed to navigate parenting in poverty. Families who are clients of our partners know that when they show up for services and appointments—whether that’s a home visit with a case worker as part of rapid rehousing case management or coming in for pediatric appointments or wellness checks—they have a reliable a source of diapers and other baby and hygiene essentials like formula, baby food, period products, making them much more likely to attend appointments and access services available to them. Our partners view these basic needs items as a “gateway resource” and leverage them in various ways:

Attracting and retaining clients
Incentivizing participation in classes and programs
Fostering trust and facilitating access to critical yet often underutilized preventive services such as healthcare, education, and housing
Supporting infant health, caregiver mental health, and overall family financial stability

Those families that identify domestic violence as a leading cause for their homelessness our often fleeing their situation.
